Meet at Nukus Airport and transfer to the Igor Savitsky Museum, one of the region’s most important museums and a strong cultural introduction to Karakalpakstan.
After the museum visit, transfer to the hotel in Nukus for rest and preparation for the expedition day.

After breakfast, start the 4×4 expedition toward the Aral Sea region. This is the longest driving day with mixed road surfaces and remote desert sections.
Key stops include Lake Sudochye, the abandoned settlement of Urga, and viewpoints on the Ustyurt Plateau.
By evening, arrive at the Aral Sea coast and stay overnight in a yurt camp. Dinner is served at camp.

After breakfast, leave the coast and drive toward Muynak to visit the ship cemetery, one of the best-known landmarks of the Aral Sea region.
Continue to Mizdakhan and then toward Khiva. Selected fortress stops such as Kyzyl-Kala, Toprak-Kala, and Ayaz-Kala can be included depending on route timing and road conditions.
Arrive in Khiva and check in to the hotel.
Khiva UNESCO walking tour + farewell dinner

Meet the local guide and start a full walking tour in Khiva. Typical sites include Muhammad Amin-Khan Madrasah, Kalta Minor, Kunya-Ark, Muhammad Rahim-Khan Madrasah, Islam Khoja Minaret, and Juma Mosque.

How to reach Nukus
Most travellers connect via Tashkent. The route starts in Nukus and ends in Urgench.
Road conditions
Days 2–3 include long driving hours, mixed road surfaces, and off-road sections. This is not a city-comfort itinerary.

The most comfortable seasons are usually spring and autumn. Summer can be very hot, and winter conditions can be harsher.
Yurt camp conditions
