The official portal, documents and application steps

Eligible travellers can apply online for an e-visa. Prepare your passport, photograph, travel dates and email. Check the details before paying and again when the visa arrives.

Official e-visa portal

Check whether you can use an e-visa

Select your citizenship, travel-document type and purpose on the official portal. Check visa-free entry first if it covers your trip. If the passport, purpose or stay does not qualify, ask about a consular application.

Use the passport you will take to Uzbekistan. Enter personal details in English exactly as shown in it. If you hold two citizenships, use the passport you intend to present at the border.

Fees and application timing

Single entry — USD 20

For one entry. The initially issued single-entry visa expires on departure, even if some of the permitted stay remains.

Double entry — USD 35

For two entries within the 30-day window beginning on your first entry. The visa expires after the second departure.

Multiple entry — USD 50

For repeat entries within the same 30-day window from the first entry. Returning does not start another 30 days.

Apply at least 3 working days before travel

The statutory processing period is two working days, excluding the submission day. Allow extra time to check files and correct details. This is a processing period; the competent authority makes the decision.

90-day validity and an initial stay of up to 30 days

Check both dates

The initially issued e-visa is valid for 90 days from issue and permits a stay of up to 30 days from entry. Compare the permitted stay with the visa expiry date: a late entry does not allow you to stay beyond expiry.

Repeat entry stays within the original window

With a double- or multiple-entry visa, the 30-day window starts on the first entry. If you visit a neighbouring country, plan your return and final departure within that window.

If you need to stay longer

From 1 May 2026, the Department of Migration and Personalization and its territorial offices may extend an e-visa once for a period of up to 30 days for a traveller who entered on it. Ask the competent office before your permitted stay expires. Extension requires a separate decision.

Documents and files to prepare

Passport and data page

You need a valid travel document. Prepare a readable copy of its main data page; the portal’s instructions specify a file no larger than 500 Kb. Check the remaining passport validity required for your document and trip.

A photograph of your face

Upload a separate photograph following ICAO DOC9303 guidance and the current form’s requirements. Make sure your face is clear and the portal accepts the file.

Dates, email and payment

Prepare travel dates, your purpose of visit and an email address you can access. It receives the activation code, application number and result. Pay through the portal’s available payment system; the cardholder may differ from the applicant.

How to complete the e-visa application

1. Select citizenship and document

Open e-visa.gov.uz. In Country, choose your citizenship, document type and purpose. The system’s response determines the available application route.

2. Enter travel dates

Choose your travel period in Dates. If you will leave for a neighbouring country, select the appropriate entry type in advance.

3. Enter personal details

Complete Personal data in English exactly as in your valid passport. Check names, passport number, citizenship, birth date and passport validity dates.

4. Upload the photograph and passport copy

In Photo and passport, add a face photograph and a readable data-page copy. Follow the file requirements shown by the form.

5. Activate and pay

Enter your email in Activation and confirm it with the numerical code from the message. After preliminary processing, the portal tells you whether payment is available. Recheck the details and entry type before paying.

6. Keep the application number and result

After payment, an acceptance message with your application number is emailed to you. Use it to check status. If approved, the e-visa arrives by email; download it and compare it with your passport.

Check the issued visa

Check your name, passport number, citizenship, dates and number of entries. Contact official support before travelling if anything differs. A replacement passport requires a new e-visa application and a new fee.

If the message has not arrived, check spam and the application status using your reference number. Keep error messages and payment confirmation for support. A refusal is notified by email; the consular fee is not refunded.

At the border and after entry

Visa and passport together

Present your valid passport and e-visa in paper or electronic form. Save an accessible copy before travelling so you can show it without searching your email at the border.

Accommodation registration

Foreign visitors permanently resident abroad generally must register no later than three working days from entry, unless an exception applies. The hotel’s responsible employee handles registration; for a private stay, agree it with your host. Keep the confirmation.

Questions before travelling

I have applied. Can I fly now?

An application and payment receipt do not replace an issued visa. Wait for the decision and check the approved document’s validity, or confirm another suitable entry basis, before travelling.

Does leaving and returning start another 30 days?

Double- and multiple-entry e-visas use the same 30-day window from the first entry. A single-entry visa does not permit re-entry after departure.

Must I print the e-visa?

The rules permit paper or electronic presentation. Keep the file ready to show with your passport; a printout can be an additional backup.

Can I correct my name after the visa is issued?

Visa details must match your passport. Before travel, ask official support about correction or a new application. Do not assume a spelling mistake will be accepted at the border.

Who can extend an e-visa?

The Department of Migration and Personalization and its territorial offices have this power. Contact them before your permitted stay expires. A one-time extension for a period of up to 30 days requires a separate decision.

If e-visa is unavailable, could an invitation help?

A consular visa may require an invitation from the host. Ask the competent office for its document list. CAJ considers tourist visa support as part of travel services.
