Trains link Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara. The desert leg to Khiva goes by road, while the Urgench flight avoids retracing the route to Tashkent.
8-Day Guaranteed Uzbekistan Tour
Updated:
Four Silk Road cities in one clearly planned journey
8-day Guaranteed Uzbekistan Tour runs on fixed departure dates and links Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva. The itinerary includes English-speaking local guides, two rail journeys, a road journey across the Kyzylkum Desert and a domestic flight from Urgench to Tashkent.
From US$1,200 per person in a double or twin room; a single room is US$1,300. The 20–27 March 2027 Navruz departure is US$1,400. International flights are not included.

The route through the eyes of a local operator
In Samarkand, luggage remains in the vehicle; in Bukhara, it is left at the hotel. This allows sightseeing to begin immediately after arrival instead of losing half a day while waiting for standard check-in.
CAJ.UZ / Central Asia Journeys operates the tour from Tashkent and confirms the hotels, tickets, transfers and meeting points in writing. Traveller reviews · About us
The full Tashkent programme is possible with a morning flight arriving by 12:30. If the flight schedule changes, the order and duration of visits will be adjusted.
Three signature sights and a taste of local cuisine
The route brings together three distinct Silk Road settings and an included introduction to local cuisine. The photographs below show the cities on the route; the cooking class is described in detail under Day 3.
Registan Square
Registan is visited with a local guide on Day 2 after Shah-i-Zinda, Siab Bazaar and Bibi-Khanym Mosque.
The historic centre over two days
Days 3 and 4 include the Samanid Mausoleum, Ark Citadel, Poi-Kalyan, trading domes and Lyabi Hauz.
A full guided day inside Ichan Kala
Two nights in Khiva allow time for an evening stroll and a full guided day among the palaces, madrasas and minarets of Ichan Kala.
Plov cooking class and dinner in Bukhara
On the evening of Day 3, the group joins a family-hosted plov cooking class followed by dinner. This is included in the itinerary, not an optional extra.

How the departure is confirmed
- Choose a date and place your order. Payment creates an order for the selected departure but does not by itself confirm that the departure will operate.
- Receive written confirmation. The departure becomes guaranteed after at least two places have been paid in full, the required hotels and tickets have been secured and CAJ.UZ has issued written confirmation.
- If the group has not formed, you lose nothing. If fewer than two places are fully paid 30 calendar days before departure and CAJ.UZ cannot confirm the tour for that reason, the sole fully paid participant receives a written choice: take the same tour privately by topping up to the final price of US$1,600, or cancel without penalty and receive a 100% refund with no deductions by CAJ.UZ or its suppliers. CAJ.UZ processes the refund within five business days; the bank may take longer to credit it.
Full terms if the minimum group is not reached
When this rule applies. If fewer than two places are fully paid 30 calendar days before departure and CAJ.UZ cannot confirm the departure for that reason, the sole fully paid participant receives a written offer.
- Private tour. The same published 8-day Tour 1 will operate privately for one traveller at a final price of US$1,600 with single occupancy and the same published inclusions and operating conditions. All tour payments already made are credited in full, so only the difference is payable. This option applies to every departure, including New Year and Navruz.
- Cancellation and full refund. The order is cancelled without penalty and 100% of the amount actually paid for the tour is returned to the original payer without deductions by CAJ.UZ or its suppliers.
- If the private option is not accepted in writing, cancellation and a full refund will apply.
- The refund is sent to the original payer using the original payment method; CAJ.UZ processes it within five business days.
- Bank processing time, exchange-rate differences and third-party charges are outside CAJ.UZ’s control.
- This special rule applies only when the minimum group is not reached and CAJ.UZ cannot confirm the departure for that reason. In the event of voluntary cancellation by the traveller, the general Booking Terms and Refund Policy apply.

What depends on the transport schedule
The exact train and domestic-flight numbers are stated in the final voucher. Three arrival windows are essential for operating the published sightseeing programme:
- Tashkent → Samarkand: train arrival by 10:30;
- Samarkand → Kogon: train arrival by 12:00;
- Urgench → Tashkent: flight arrival by 12:30.
If the confirmed schedule falls outside these windows, CAJ.UZ will advise the revised order of the programme in writing before tickets are issued.
Who accompanies the travellers
Sightseeing in Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva and Tashkent is conducted by English-speaking local guides. A permanent tour escort between cities is not included: travellers take the trains and domestic flight independently and are met after each arrival by a driver and/or local guide as stated in the voucher.
From choosing a departure to written confirmation
Select the date, number of travellers and room type in the departure cards. The button will pass the selected date to the payment page.
The online form shows the full price of the selected rate. Payment creates the order, after which CAJ.UZ checks and secures the services.
CAJ.UZ secures the hotels and tickets and sends a final voucher showing the trains, flight, transfers and meeting points. How the departure is confirmed.
Payment methods: Visa or Mastercard on the order page; bank transfer and cash payment are available only after written agreement with CAJ.UZ. On the next step, check the date, number of participants, room type and final amount again.
Response time: the team usually replies on the same day; enquiries sent late in the evening or outside working hours are answered when business hours resume.
Before making other travel arrangements
- Do not buy non-refundable international flights specifically for this departure until CAJ.UZ has confirmed the booking in writing.
- Use the official Tour 1 order page.
- Read the Booking Terms and Refund Policy before ordering.

There are 2–8 participants. A departure is confirmed after at least two places have been paid in full and the required services have been secured; the actual group size for the selected date is stated in the written confirmation.
How do I pay, and is a deposit available?
The online form calculates the full price of the selected rate and does not offer a separate part-payment option. Visa and Mastercard are accepted. Bank transfer or cash payment must be agreed with CAJ.UZ in writing before ordering.
Is there a child rate or triple accommodation?
No separate child rate or triple-room rate is published on this page. If you are travelling with a child or need a triple room, request availability and the final price before payment.
Is there one tour escort between the cities?
No. A local guide conducts the sightseeing in each city. Travellers take the trains and domestic flight independently and are met after arrival as stated in the final voucher. See ‘Who accompanies the travellers’.
When are the exact trains, flight and baggage allowance confirmed?
After ticketing. The final voucher states the train numbers and seats, domestic-flight time and baggage allowance; before confirmation, CAJ.UZ checks that the schedule is compatible with the itinerary.
What happens if a listed hotel is unavailable?
CAJ.UZ agrees a comparable replacement in advance. The replacement and room-confirmation procedure is explained under ‘How your room is confirmed’.
What cancellation and refund terms apply?
If the minimum group is not reached, the special terms providing a full-refund option apply — see ‘How the departure is confirmed’. If the traveller cancels voluntarily, the general Booking Terms and Refund Policy apply.

Place an order for your chosen departure
Before payment: choose the date, number of travellers and room type. For Navruz, a manager must first confirm single accommodation. On the next page, check the final amount and room type; if either differs from the departure card, do not complete payment and contact CAJ.UZ.
Ready to place your order?
Choose a date in the cards above and it will be passed to the order page automatically. If you have any questions, contact CAJ.UZ before payment.
